Knowledge in a nutshell: Solar power and e-mobility

Around half of those planning to buy an e-car also want to install a photovoltaic system. This combination offers many advantages and, especially in the field of e-mobility, offers numerous funding options.

1. Increasing cost effectiveness

In connection with an electric car, a photovoltaic system really pays off, since own consumption of solar power increases, thus boosting the system’s cost effectiveness.

2. Set up and installation

An electrician can easily set up a privately used regular charging station with an output of up to 22 kilowatts. The connection to the photovoltaic system is also quickly established. The installer will take care of any registrations required by the grid operator.

3. Funding options

Baden-Württemberg also promotes e-mobility with the INPUT programme. Wanted: smart ideas and concepts for intelligently connecting parking garages and underground car parks to the grid. After all, the better the charging infrastructure is, the easier it is to decide in favour of the e-car.

4. Smart solution

Yes, you can flexibly charge an e-car with your own solar electricity – via a virtual electricity account for which a fee is charged. Unused solar power flows into a cloud. Particularly smart: At many charging stations at home and abroad, the electricity can be used for e-mobiles via a free app.
